Proposed Amendment No. 11 Cherrywood Town Centre and Environs Review
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, in its role as Planning Authority, lodged Proposed Amendment No. 11 to An Bord Pleanála to amend the Cherrywood SDZ Planning Scheme 2014 (as approved) on Friday 20th December 2024 in accordance with Section 170(A) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).
The purpose of this review was to update the approved Cherrywood SDZ Planning Scheme 2014 (as amended) to ensure an appropriate mix, quantum and phasing of uses in this area to secure a balance of employment, commercial, retail, residential, community and social uses.

An Coimisún Pleanála, as the competent authority, has determined as at 29 October 2025, that its direction of 11 September 2025 should be disregarded and have now directed dlr to amend the Planning Scheme in accordance with the statutory process under Section 169 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended).
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council as the Planning Authority, in accordance with the determination by An Coimisún Pleanála and Section 169 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000, as amended, undertook the required statutory public consultation process which took place between 25 November 2025 to 15 January 2026. The submissions from the Public Consultation were considered at a Special County Council Meeting on 12 March 2026. The Elected Members have resolved that the Proposed Amendment No. 11 be made subject to material alterations/modifications. The proposed material alterations/modifications are hereby subject of public display.
Dlr has initiated the 2nd Public Consultation process which started on 25 March 2026 and will run up to and including 24 April 2026.
