Public Consultation

In recent months, the Dundrum by Design team has engaged with local residents, community organisations, businesses, and other stakeholder groups in Dundrum. The objective is to inform future urban development initiatives, including the forthcoming Living Streets: Dundrum Scheme.

Feedback and input from stakeholders have been compiled using the online survey tool Meitheal, which documents community members' concerns and suggestions. Click here to know more

The recent Community Geodesign Workshop further developed the collected feedback. Through collaborative discussion, participants generated proposals to enhance vibrancy, inclusivity, and climate resilience in Dundrum.

Outcomes from the workshop and Meitheal were consolidated into a list of agreed proposals. For topics where consensus was not achieved, a separate list was created for further consideration.

Community members are invited to participate in voting on these unresolved proposals by the following link: https://dlrcoco.citizenspace.com/infrastructure-climate-change/dundrum-by-design

The Dundrum community is at the heart of this project. Your feedback and ideas will influence every stage of the Dundrum by Design project, from recognising existing strengths and challenges to planning future opportunities.

This project is a collaborative effort involving local Dundrum communities, University College Dublin (UCD), and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

Through the EU Horizon 2020-funded PROBONO Living Lab, we have utilised Geodesign—a creative, value-based method for co-designing sustainable neighbourhoods — to seek community input actively.

Feedback gathered through this process will be shared with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and will be considered for the future Living Streets: Dundrum Scheme before any design work. Suggestions must be consistent with both national and local policies, including the Dundrum Local Area Plan and the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Development Plan.
