A preview and site tour of the newly upgraded Quarterdeck building at Dún Laoghaire Harbour was facilitated this month by the Quarterdeck team. The event welcomed Frank Curran, Chief Executive of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Cathaoirleach Cllr Jim Gildea, and local elected members, offering a first-hand look at the completed first phase of the project and a guided tour of the work in progress on future phases, including the Food Hall and 4,500 sq ft Event Space. Cllrs and Leadership Team had the opportunity to meet with some of the businesses already occupying office space, such as Momntum, an AI technologies company developing customer engagement platforms to help businesses retain and grow their client base.

Quarterdeck has completed 158 desks—25% of its planned capacity of approximately 650—and has already signed up 59 desks across its First and Ground Floors. Construction is actively progressing on the remaining 500 desks, with full completion expected in the last quarter of 2025.

In addition to office space, Quarterdeck will feature a public-facing Food Hall and Event Space, both designed to connect businesses with the local community and foster a vibrant social and professional environment. Work on the Food Hall is scheduled to begin within 6–8 weeks, targeting completion in Q1 2026, while the Event Space will commence development in Q4 2025.

There has already been significant interest in the available office spaces in this first phase of the Quarterdeck project, and the team looks forward to welcoming many more companies to this hub over the coming months and years. This development aligns with the emergence of the ambitious Harbour Master Plan and the drive to establish a Marine Cluster in Dún Laoghaire, promoting collaboration, innovation, and economic growth across the harbour and surrounding coastal towns and villages.

Quarterdeck’s mission is to create a workspace where small and medium-sized companies can collaborate in a community-based environment that promotes and fosters entrepreneurship through a spirit of innovation and creativity. By creating new business networking opportunities. To find out more, please view their website here.
