Call for Applications: dlr Musicians-in-Residence Scheme 2022

The aim of the Musicians-in-Residence Scheme is to provide opportunities to develop and showcase new work which may be compositional and/or performance focused, i.e. to create new material and/or to develop a new artistic collaboration.
 
An Cathaoirleach, Councillor Lettie McCarthy said, "Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is delighted to offer this opportunity for musicians to focus on creation of new music.  As we start to enjoy live events again, it is so important to provide opportunities for creativity and the arts to flourish.”
 
Commenting on the announcement, CEO of Music Network Sharon Rollston said: “Music Network looks forward to managing this scheme again in 2022, and to supporting the selected musicians in realising exciting new projects that will evolve their artistic practice and add to the rich legacy of material created by previous awardees. The eligibility criteria have been revised this year, enabling a broader range of musicians to apply."
 
 dlr Arts Office and Music Network will present an information webinar on February 15th 2022 at 11a.m. to outline details of the scheme and to answer any specific questions. Musicians wishing to attend this webinar can book a place here, registration is essential. A recording of the webinar will also be made available on Music Network's website and social media channels from February 16th 2022.
 
The dlr Musicians-in-Residence Scheme was established in 2015. Previous Musicians-in-Residence have included Trumpet and cornetto player Darren Cornish Moore; pianist, vocalist, producer and composer Ruth O’Mahony Brady; traditional flute player Iarlaith Mac Gabhann; composer and guitarist Dave Flynn, the Tommy Halferty Trio, chamber group Ikigai, percussionist and composer Éamonn Cagney, improvising pianist and composer Izumi Kimura, composer, sound designer and multi-instrumentalist Lara Gallagher, vocalist and songwriter Susan McKeown, pianist and composer Conor Linehan, sound artist and composer Craig Cox, musician and composer Sebastian Adams, The Eidola Trio, soprano Elizabeth Hilliard with composer Gráinne Mulvey, jazz drummer Matthew Jacobson and Metier, a jazz quintet led by Ronan Guilfoyle.
