Sightless Cinema

‘Sightless Cinema’ is a group of blind and visually impaired people who worked together with theatre director Ciarán Taylor and radio programme maker/ composer Rachel Ni Chuinn to create a new radio play.

The group, called White Cane Audio Theatre, met regularly over 9 months to create and then record the work.  They used the aural experiences of blind people as inspiration for this.

‘Sightless Cinema’ was performed live in the UCD Student Centre Cinema on 18th June 2015. The project was assisted by NCBI Services– Working for People with Sight Loss.
