The training is jointly funded by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage and as well as providing an introduction to politics, the training events will focus on areas like messaging for campaigns in the “What are you saying” messaging workshop, campaign design and rollout and Social Media 101.

Councillor Denis O'Callaghan, Cathaoirleach, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council highlighted:

"Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council are keen to continue the trend of gender balance of elected members to the Council. It is wonderful to see this training being provided to potential local election candidates for 2024."

Their specific ambition to diversify the women coming forward is a key value we share.  We believe that empowering women with the right skills and knowledge is not just about winning elections, but about shaping the future of our Government.
