Public invited to shape safer routes to two local schools
St Kevin’s National School
People are being asked to have their say on plans to improve safety around St Kevin’s National School.
Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown County Council has opened a public consultation as part of the Safe Routes to School programme, which aims to make it easier for children to walk or cycle.
The plans look at how to deal with traffic and safety issues at the school gate and nearby streets, with options like better crossings, wider footpaths and measures to slow cars.
Parents, neighbours and local road users are invited to view the plans online and give feedback before anything is finalised. Read more and submit your views.
St Patrick’s National School
A second public consultation has opened on proposals to improve access and safety at St Patrick’s National School.
The project is also part of the Safe Routes to School programme, which focuses on cutting congestion and creating safer, healthier routes for school children.
Proposals are expected to address busy drop‑off times and make it safer to walk and cycle, with changes such as improved crossings and traffic calming measures.
The council is encouraging anyone in the area to take a look at the plans and share their views before the designs are finalised. Read more and submit your views.
