Partnership Delivers 39 New Homes at Bentley Villas, Dún Laoghaire
This week, Cllr Jim Gildea, Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown and elected members attended the launch of 39 new homes at Bentley Villas, Dún Laoghaire, marking the completion of the development and recognising the importance of partnership in delivering new homes across the county in collaboration with Oaklee.
The involvement of Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council reflects the strong collaborative approach that supported the scheme from planning through to completion and occupation. Bentley Villas highlights what can be achieved when local authorities, approved housing bodies, funders and delivery partners work together to respond to identified housing need and support the development of sustainable communities.
Residents have already begun moving into Bentley Villas, which delivers high‑quality, sustainable homes in a well‑connected location. The scheme provides 27 one‑bed apartments, 11 two‑bed apartments and one three‑bed apartment in Dún Laoghaire, contributing to the delivery of much‑needed social housing in the town centre.
Cllr Jim Gildea, Cathaoirleach, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council said:
“These 39 new homes demonstrate the strong partnership between Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown County Council and Oaklee in providing high‑quality homes in sustainable locations. Developments such as Bentley Villas play an important role in meeting identified housing need, supporting people to move off the housing list, while also strengthening our town centres and local communities.
We are delighted to welcome the new residents to Bentley Villas and to see this project brought from plan to reality. I would like to thank Oaklee and all delivery partners for their commitment and collaboration in delivering these much‑needed homes.”
Welcoming partners to Bentley Villas, Sharon Cosgrove, CEO, Oaklee, highlighted:
“At Oaklee, our purpose is to deliver homes that help people and communities live, thrive and prosper. Seeing these homes finished and occupied brings that purpose to life. The real achievement goes beyond construction and milestones; it is realised when residents move
in and a house becomes a home. Bentley Villas is already coming to life, and I want to thank Bank of Ireland, Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council, KavCo, the Housing Agency, the Department of Housing, local councillors, and everyone who supported this project. It is a strong example of what can be achieved through collaboration and shared commitment.”
