Love Me Again Exhibition Brings Sustainable Fashion to Dún Laoghaire
The Love Me Again exhibition is now on display in the Lexicon Library, Dún Laoghaire, until 11 May. It features outfits sourced, reworked, and styled from charity and vintage shops along the Dún Laoghaire high street.
The exhibition is created by Fashion Styling students from Dublin College Sallynoggin. Each look shows how existing materials can be reused and given new life instead of being thrown away. This makes it a fitting event for Dublin Climate Action Week.
At its core, the exhibition encourages people to reconnect with their clothes. When we feel a connection to what we wear, we are more likely to care for it and keep it for longer. This helps reduce waste and supports more sustainable habits.
The exhibition also highlights the role of a circular economy - where clothes are reused, repaired, and kept in use for as long as possible. Charity shops play an important part in this. They offer affordable, climate-friendly clothing while supporting local communities and good causes.
The fashion industry is one of the largest users of fresh water and produces around 10% of global carbon emissions. Love Me Again invites visitors to think about their own choices. Could you commit to wearing items at least 30 times? Or choose to buy less and wear more?
As designer Vivienne Westwood famously said, “Buy less, choose well, make it last.”
Supported by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, this exhibition brings that idea to life. It shows that sustainable fashion is not about giving things up. It is about creativity, care, and self-expression.
Rediscover your wardrobe. Reimagine your style. And fall in love with your clothes - again.
