Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Local Community Safety Partnership

General News
Garda

The dlr Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP) is a newly established initiative aimed at enhancing community safety across Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown by placing local voices at the heart of decision-making. The partnership brings together a diverse range of stakeholders including local councillors, An Garda Síochána, community groups, businesses, educators, and statutory agencies such as the HSE, Tusla, and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

The dlr LCSP’s mission is to collaboratively address safety concerns identified by residents, ensuring that responses are coordinated and inclusive. Each LCSP is tasked with developing a tailored Local Community Safety Plan, designed to reflect the unique needs and priorities of the area.

Membership & Representation

Membership is capped at 30 individuals, nominated through their organisations or the dlr Public Participation Network (PPN). The partnership includes:

  • 7 County Councillors

  • Senior Gardaí

  • Representatives from Tusla, HSE, and the County Council

  • Residents’ association members

  • Voices from education, business, youth, sport, social inclusion, and minority communities

A Collaborative Approach

The dlr LCSP operates on two key principles:

  1. Every community has distinct safety concerns.

  2. Addressing these concerns requires a multi-agency approach—not just policing, but also health, social services, and community support.

Get Involved

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is inviting expressions of interest from individuals and organisations passionate about making the county safer and more inclusive. The dlr LCSP is part of a national framework established under the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024 and its associated regulations (S.I. No. 279/2025).
