IADT is delighted to introduce the Carnegie Conversations and a year-round programme of events connecting audiences with leading experts across a wide range of fields. The series will welcome influential voices from the worlds of Culture, Business, Community, Sustainability, and Social Inclusion.  Events will take place at The Carnegie Library, Dún Laoghaire, and on campus at Kill Avenue, and are being organised by the Planning and Strategy Office.

Tania Banotti will highlight the ambitions and achievements of the Creative Ireland programme in conversation with Dr Linda King. The event will be introduced by Dr Daithí Mac Síthigh. Prior to her Directorship of Creative Ireland Tania was CEO of the Institute of Advertising Practitioners of Ireland and Director of Performing Arts Forum Ireland. Creative Ireland has flourished and expanded under Tania’s leadership, resulting in a highly ambitious and successful all-of-government culture and wellbeing programme.  

 

Creative Ireland inspires and transforms people, places and communities through creativity. Established in 2017 and renewed in 2023. It is based in the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport and reports to the Secretary General of the Department of the Taoiseach.  The goal of the programme is to embed creativity across government policy.  The programme currently works with 8 government departments, 12 state agencies and all 31 local authorities. There are five strategic pillars; Creative Youth, Creative Communities, Creativity, Health and Wellbeing, Creative Climate Action, Creative Industries, a new Shared Island dimension was added in 2023. The programme’s new policies driving growth in digital creativity, with areas like gaming, AR/VR, and design through Creative Ireland’s Roadmap for the Digital Creative Industries.
