Beaches

Seapoint Beach

Seapoint beach is a gently sloping sandy beach with areas of rocks along the coastline. The beach is located about 8km south of Dublin city centre and can be accessed via Dart for those using public transport. The beach is located within a National Heritage Area, Special Area of Conversation and a Special Protection Area. Activities include sailing, kayaking and swimming. There is an exclusion zone for motorized craft for 300 metres from the foreshore and this is marked by lighted buoys. Swimmers should be aware that there may be sudden large waves caused by passing boats and ferries.  The Council carries out an extensive beach-cleaning programme at this location and acknowledges the importance of the beach as an amenity for the community. The Beach retained it blue flag in 2024/2025.
