Coliemore Harbour

Coliemore Harbour

Coliemore Harbour is located close to Dalkey village in Co. Dublin. The harbour is historically important and is a protected structure within the Dalkey architectural conservation area. The nearby Dalkey Island is a sensitive heritage site, with historic coastal features and important seabird colonies within the Rockabill to Dalkey Special Area of Conservation.

Between 1200 and 1600, the Harbour was once the primary deep-water trading port. Ships used it as an alternative to the shallow Liffey estuary. Goods were stored in local fortified tower houses in the village.

Today, Coliemore is a picturesque harbour used for fishing and leisure boating.
