Visual Art Commission 2024, 2025 and 2026

Call for applications

The Visual Art Commission is an opportunity for visual artists to create new work that examines and connects to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County . The selected artist will receive €12,000 and an exhibition in the Municipal Gallery, dlr LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire.

Applications are invited from individual artists; also from two artists who work together or two artists who would like to exhibit together.  Group shows will not be considered for this opportunity. Three exhibitions will be selected from this call out and will take place in 2024, 2025 and 2026. This opportunity is open to artists who are living in, working in or originally from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County; and to artists who have studied visual art in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.

These commissions are funded by The Arts Council.

Closing date for applications: Monday 25 September 2023 at 2pm

 

How to apply

We will ask you to tell us about your previous work and your ideas for this visual art commission.  You will need to fill in an application form and upload digital files that give more detail about your work. This will include your CV and images of your work. Please allow time for this and do not start making your application very close to the deadline.
