Parking Charge Adjustments to Take Effect from 1 January 2026
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has passed a resolution to increase parking charges at its Budget Meeting on 25 November 2025. The revised charges will come into effect from 1 January 2026 and apply to both on-street parking and Council-operated car parks.
The adjustments, which represent an average increase of 20% Countywide but with rates in the Dún Laoghaire Harbour area remaining as they are, are necessary to meet rising operational costs and to ensure continued funding for essential services such as road maintenance, public lighting, and traffic improvements.
New tariff plates will be installed on parking meters in advance of the commencement date. However, the increased charges will not take effect until 1 January 2026. Current rates will remain in place until then.
