The New Dún Laoghaire Storytelling Festival opens this May

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is proud to announce the debut of the Dún Laoghaire Storytelling Festival, May 12th – 14th 2023.

The festival shall bring over 9 storytellers  to a number of different venues all over Dún Laoghaire. The opening night brings Aindrias de Staic, storyteller, folklorist and musician from the West of Ireland. He is one a new generation of storytellers in Ireland today bringing a new energy to the art form.

There shall be international storytellers from Israel and Finland joining us for Whistler of Dreams which asks the question, “Why are we so afraid of the light?” Kevin Gildea brings ‘Silly Jokes and Stories’ to the library for children (aged 5 and up).

There is a free-entrance show ‘Evening of Stories’ and to close the mini festival we are blessed to have storytelling champions and podcast stars ‘Candlelit Tales’ sharing their live storytelling performance.

There is a story for everyone at Dún Laoghaire’s first storytelling festival. Tickets are kept at low prices so grab them while you can!
