Work to install new floodlighting at Kilbogget Park’s athletics track and soccer pitch will start this week.

The new lights will support club training and make it easier for the community to use the facilities all year round.

The floodlighting uses modern technology to reduce light spill. This helps protect nearby land, trees and hedgerows. The lighting meets World Athletics standards, which means it is safe and suitable for both athletics and pitch use.

Protecting the environment has been a key part of the project. The lighting has been designed to reduce impact on bats. To support this, the lights will not be used during April, May, August and September, in line with ecological guidelines.

When the lights are in operation, they will be used at the following times:

Morning
06:00 to 08:00

Evening
17:00 to 22:00, Monday to Sunday

Construction will take place over the next four months. During this time, there may be occasional restrictions on access to parts of the grounds, especially during the movement and installation of lighting columns.

Updates will be shared on our website and social media channels.

Please follow all construction and park signage during the works.

These improvements will support the growth of club activities and benefit the wider community.
