Voter.ie makes it easier to check and update your voting details

General News
Voter.ie

Residents are being encouraged to check and update their details on the electoral register through Voter.ie, Ireland’s new online electoral registration platform, now in use across all local authorities nationwide.

Voter.ie is the new website where you can check if you're registered to vote, update your details, or register to vote for the first time and replaces CheckTheRegister.ie

The launch marks a significant milestone in the modernisation of Ireland’s electoral registration system. For the first time, all 31 local authorities are managing and maintaining the electoral register through a single integrated national platform, helping to improve accuracy, reduce duplicate registrations and make it easier to process changes of address.

Using Voter.ie, residents can:

  • Check whether they are registered to vote
  • Register to vote online
  • Update their name, address or personal details
  • Access electoral registration forms and information

The platform supports online registration and updates using MyGovID or PPSN identity verification. Paper application forms will continue to be available for those who prefer or require them.

In addition to making the process easier for voters, the new system provides a modern and secure national infrastructure for electoral registration, enabling local authorities to process changes more efficiently and maintain more accurate voter records.

Residents are encouraged to take a few minutes to visit www.voter.ie and ensure their electoral registration details are up to date, helping to ensure they can participate in future elections and referendums.
