Traffic and Roadworks Update: Saturday 16 May to Friday 22 May 2026

Motorists travelling in Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown are advised to plan ahead this week, as a number of road closures, roadworks and traffic management measures will be in place across the county.

Key updates

Speed limit change
A temporary 50 km/h speed limit is in place on the Wyattville Link Road (westbound) until November 2026 due to ongoing works.

Road closures coming up

  • Convent Road, Blackrock (29 June–3 July)
  • Enniskerry Road, Kilternan (8 June–28 August)
  • Meadow Mount / Meadow Grove, Ballinteer (24 June, evening only)

Road closures in place

  • Stillorgan Road (31 May, Mini Marathon)
  • M50 southbound (night works, 26–27 May)
  • Ballybride Road, Shankill (25–29 May)
  • Burton Hall Road, Sandyford (extended to 29 May)
  • Knapton Road, Dún Laoghaire (until July)

Roadworks and delays

Works are taking place in a number of areas this week, including:

  • Ballinteer
  • Stepaside
  • Dalkey
  • Glenageary
  • Ballybrack

Traffic management will be in place and short delays are expected.

Major projects

  • Active Travel works continue in Dún Laoghaire and Dundrum
  • Safe Routes to School works are ongoing near local schools
