Traffic and Roadworks Update – Saturday 13 June to Friday 19 June 2026
This update gives details of planned roadworks, temporary closures and traffic measures taking place across Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown. Information is based on notices received by 4pm on Thursday. As always, emergency works may happen at short notice.
Road Works Speed Limit Orders
M11 Northbound – Temporary 60 km/h Limit
A temporary 60 km/h speed limit will be in place on the M11 northbound between Junction 7 and Junction 5 from 22 June to 17 July 2026 to allow resurfacing works.
Wyattville Link Road – Temporary 50 km/h Limit
A 50 km/h temporary speed limit continues on the Wyattville Link Road (westbound) from Cherrywood Avenue to the M50 southbound slip road. This will remain in place until 30 November 2026, or until works are completed.
Proposed Temporary Road Closures
George’s Street Lower, Dún Laoghaire
Gas Networks Ireland has applied to close George’s Street Lower between Library Road and Convent Lane on the evenings of 13–16 July 2026. Local and pedestrian access will be maintained.
Killiney Hill Road
A proposed closure from 14–15 July 2026, 8am–6pm daily, to allow gas works.
Torquay Road, Foxrock
A proposed closure from 6- 26 July 2026, 8am- 11pm daily, for gas works.
Puck’s Castle Lane & Murphy’s Lane, Rathmichael
A proposed daytime closure from 13 July–9 August 2026 for road maintenance and surface dressing.
Station Road, Killiney
A proposed night‑time closure from 20–26 July 2026 for installation of a zebra crossing ramp and drainage works.
Approved Road Closures
Sutton’s Lane & Mine Hill Lane, Ballycorus
Closed on 24 June 2026, 1.30pm–4pm, for cleansing works.
Fitzgerald Park Road, Dún Laoghaire
Closed on 28 June 2026, 2pm–5pm, for a community fun day.
Hillcrest Road, Sandyford
Closed on 24 June 2026, 9am–1pm, for cleansing works.
Kilmacud Road Upper, Dundrum
Closed from 22–26 June 2026 for resurfacing under the Safe Routes to School scheme.
Kellystown Road, Taylorsgrange
Closed from 22 June–24 July 2026 for reconstruction and resurfacing.
Convent Road, Blackrock
Closed from 29 June–3 July 2026 for resurfacing works.
Meadow Mount & Meadow Grove, Ballinteer
Closed on 24 June 2026, 6.15pm–9.30pm, for the Stephen Roche GP Cycle Race.
Enniskerry Road (R117), Kilternan
Closed from 8 June–28 August 2026 for road realignment and upgrade works.
Knapton Road, Dún Laoghaire
Closed until 17 July 2026 for Active Travel works.
Marino Avenue East to Station Road Laneway, Killiney
Closed until 3 August 2026 for reconstruction of a dangerous boundary wall.
Wyattville Link Road (Westbound)
Closed until 30 November 2026 for construction of the Beckett Link Road underpass.
Permanent Closure and Bus Gate Installation
As part of the Glenamuck District Roads Scheme, Barnaslingan Lane will be permanently closed to through‑traffic from 17 January 2026, with access maintained for pedestrians and cyclists. A new bus gate will also be installed at the Glenamuck Link Distributor Road/Enniskerry Road junction and will come into operation in Q2 2026.
Roadworks and Lane Restrictions
Stop/go systems, temporary signals or lane restrictions will be in place at several locations, including:
- Kilmashogue Lane
- Monkstown Road
- Church Road, Killiney
- Wyattville Road
- Ashlawn Park
- Albert Road Upper
- Carmanhall Road/Blackthorn Drive
- Enniskerry Road/Glenamuck Road junction
- Glenageary Road Upper (Active Travel Scheme)
- Orwell Road/Braemor Park (Dodder Greenway)
- Upper Kilmacud Road (Safe Routes to School)
- Eden Road Lower/Harold Crescent (Safe Routes to School)
Most works will take place between 10am and 4pm to reduce disruption.
Cycle and Greenway Schemes
Construction on the Cherrywood to Rathmichael Manor Rapid Build Cycle Scheme is now complete, with no traffic impacts.
Works continue on the Dodder Greenway – Ely’s Arch Project, where temporary stop/go systems may be required.
