Swans Set to Return to Kilbogget Park
22 September 2025
Kilbogget Park
Following the oil spill earlier this Summer, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council commissioned WSP Ireland Environmental Consultants to carry out an ecological survey and take water and sediment samples at Kilbogget Wetland.
- Sample analysis has shown no evidence of diesel contamination.
- WSP has recommended that the swans be safely returned to the wetland.
Thanks to Kildare Wildlife Rescue, the swans will be reintroduced this week. We kindly ask the public to not disturb the swans and to give them space to settle back into their habitat.
Visitors to Kilbogget Park are reminded to keep dogs on leads, except in designated off-leash areas.
Any concerns can be reported to the Parks Section on (01) 2054700.
