Status Yellow - Wind warning for Ireland
18 October 2024
dlr County
Storm Ashley will bring very strong and gusty southerly winds, coupled with high spring tides this Sunday 20 October, between 12-9pm.
Possible impacts can include fallen trees, difficulty driving and coastal flooding and high waves.
Coastal flooding and high waves
We are currently in one of the highest Spring tides of the year and unusually high tides mean coastal flooding is possible. Given the high astronomical tides any strong winds and high waves will increase the risk of coastal flooding, especially along our coastline.
We would urge the public to stay away from the coastline as waves can pull you in during periods of high tides and high winds.
