Site Works to Begin on New Housing Development at Sussex Street, Dún Laoghaire

We are pleased to announce that contractors have been appointed to commence enabling site works at the former Boylan Centre site on Sussex Street, Dún Laoghaire. These works represent the first stage in the delivery of a new housing development that will provide 59  homes in the heart of the town centre.

The approved development will comprise 39 one-bedroom apartments, 16 two-bedroom apartments and four three-bedroom terraced houses. A seven-storey mixed-use building will accommodate the apartments along with a community facility at ground floor level. Three wheelchair-liveable one-bedroom homes with their own front-door access will also be provided.

The development's central location places it within a five-minute walk of Dún Laoghaire DART Station and close to a wide range of local services, amenities and community facilities. The scheme will support the continued growth and vitality of Dún Laoghaire town centre by providing much-needed housing in a highly accessible location.

Planning permission for the development was granted in June 2026, and the commencement of site works marks an important milestone in bringing the project forward.

Members of the public should note that parking on Sussex Street will be reduced during the works due to the installation of site perimeter hoarding. The Council thanks residents and businesses for their patience while these essential works are carried out.
