Rediscovery Repair Café Comes to Sandyford
The Dynamic Space in Sandyford Business District was converted to a Repair Café for Businesses during Dublin Climate Action Week 2026. Hosted by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and Local Enterprise Office Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown (LEO DLR) the Rediscovery Centre delivered furniture and textile repair demonstrations highlighting how items can be reused, wardrobes reimagined, and waste reduced.
As well as experiencing tangible examples of circular economy practices and principles being put into action, attendees were able to get advice regarding how to be more energy efficient from Sustainable Energy Communities mentor Gavin Harte.
Speaking at the event Lisa Brown, Head of Enterprise at LEO DLR said:
“LEO DLR are proud to support businesses that are embedding circular economy principles at the heart of their operations. These enterprises demonstrate how innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand, reducing waste and creating long-term economic resilience.
Dublin Climate Action Week is a valuable opportunity to showcase and celebrate these achievements, while encouraging more small businesses to take practical steps towards circular models that benefit climate, the environment, and the wider community.”
Bean Around is a sustainable skincare company taking used coffee grounds and repurposing them into luxury soaps and exfoliants.
And its co-founder Sadhbh Wood added:
“Receiving LEO DLR support has been transformative for Bean Around — from one simple idea it helped us turn that into a business and then scale while staying true to our circular economy principles. At Dublin Climate Action Week, it’s inspiring to see how small businesses can drive real change; from reducing waste through repurposing materials and rethinking supply chains. Our model proves that circular economy and strong local enterprise can go hand in hand”.
