Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is planning to build both a new play space for children aged 5 to 12 years and a designated teen space in the Loughlinstown Linear Park.

The dlr Play Policy 2023-2028 has highlighted the need for both a new children’s play space and an outdoor fitness space in Loughlinstown Linear Park and the fitness space may comprise part of a new teen space. The DLR Parks and Landscape Services is asking residents in Loughlinstown and those residents who regularly use the Loughlinstown Park to complete the questionnaires in the links below.

The new play space will include equipment made from natural materials as well as additional planting to make it a pleasant inviting space.

In recent years local authorities in the Dublin metropolitan area have built teen spaces with features where local teenagers prefer to meet their friends and ‘hang out’ in a safe environment.

Submissions can be made by filling in the online survey here at Loughlinstown Play Space, or Loughlinstown Teen Space by email to parksconcultations@dlrcoco.ie or in writing. Written submissions can be posted or submitted in person to Parks Department, County Hall, 2 Marine Rd, Dún Laoghaire, Dublin, A96 K6C9. All submissions must be received by Monday 2 December 2025.

Please ensure that your written/emailed submission is clearly marked as: Children's Play Space Loughlinstown or Teen Space Loughlinstown.
