Public Consultation Opens on Draft Contribution Scheme for Old Connaught Area 2026–2036

Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown County Council has launched a public consultation on the Draft Development Contribution Scheme for the Old Connaught Area 2026–2036. The draft scheme sets out how financial contributions from new developments in the area will support the delivery of essential public infrastructure over the next decade.

Prepared under Section 48 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), the scheme outlines how development contributions will be allocated across three key categories of infrastructure:

  • Community and Parks Facilities & Recreational Amenities
  • Transport Infrastructure
  • Surface Water Infrastructure

For developments within the Old Connaught Local Area Plan boundary, proposed contribution rates are detailed in Table A, with a total charge of €38,915.37 per residential unit. Countywide contributions, outlined in Table B, apply to domestic extensions over 40 square metres and commercial developments, with separate rates set for each class of infrastructure.

The draft scheme is available to view at several locations throughout the county, including the Civic Hub in County Hall, Dún Laoghaire, Dundrum Office Park, and all dlr Library branches during normal opening hours. The consultation period runs from Friday, 16 January 2026, to Friday, 27 February 2026, closing at 5pm.

Members of the public are encouraged to read the draft scheme and share their views. Full details are available on the Council’s consultation website.
