Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown County Council is inviting residents and the wider community to take part in a public consultation on proposed public realm improvements for St Columbanus Road.

The purpose of the project is to improve road safety, enhance the appearance of the area, and provide a more organised and safer approach to parking. The scheme also aims to create a greener and more accessible streetscape that benefits residents, pedestrians, and road users.

What is proposed?

The preferred option design includes:

  • A new landscaped strip with additional planting and trees
  • Bollards placed strategically to prevent illegal and unsafe parking
  • Formalised parking spaces
  • A raised table at the junction with Dundrum Road to improve accessibility and pedestrian safety

The proposed scheme covers the junction of St Columbanus Road with Dundrum Road, and approximately the first 120 metres of St Columbanus Road.

Once completed, the project will result in a safer, greener and more modern street layout, delivering long‑term benefits for the local community.

Have your say

Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown County Council is keen to hear from residents and stakeholders to help inform the final design.

The public consultation is open from Tuesday 21 April to Tuesday 5 May 2026.

You can view the drawings and submit your observations online:
