Nominations Open for dlr Community and Volunteer Awards 2026

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council (dlr) is delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the dlr Community and Volunteer Awards 2026, which will take place on Thursday 5 November 2026 at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dún Laoghaire.
 
The awards celebrate the outstanding contribution of community organisations, volunteer led groups and individual volunteers who help make Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown a vibrant, inclusive and thriving place to live.
 
Residents are encouraged to nominate those making a positive difference in their communities and recognise the impact they have had over the past year.
 
The 2026 award categories are:

• Community Organisation
• Volunteer led Community Group
• Good Governance
• Moment to Celebrate
• Community Collaboration
• Volunteer of the Year
• Committee Member of the Year
• Youth Leadership (Under 18s only)

 
Speaking at the launch, An Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Councillor Barry Saul, said: 
 
“These awards celebrate the dedication, commitment and impact of community groups and volunteers right across Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. We look forward to learning about the achievements that are making a positive difference at both local and county level, enriching the lives of communities throughout dlr.”
 
Frank Curran, Chief Executive of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, said:
 
“Our communities are improved by the excellent work of volunteers and community groups working together, striving to make positive change. It is wonderful to see such amazing communities growing around the county. We look forward to an evening of celebrating their commitment and hard work.”
