No Paid Parking on Public Holidays

From 1 October 2025, paid parking controls in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown no longer apply on public holidays in any designated paid parking areas. This change aims to simplify parking arrangements and support residents and visitors during national holidays.

The following public holidays are exempt from paid parking controls:

  • New Year’s Day – 1 January

  • St. Brigid’s Day – First Monday of February (or 1st February if it falls on a Friday)

  • St. Patrick’s Day – 17 March

  • Easter Monday – Variable date

  • May Public Holiday – First Monday of May

  • June Public Holiday – First Monday of June

  • August Public Holiday – First Monday of August

  • October Public Holiday – Last Monday of October

  • Christmas Day – 25 December

  • St. Stephen’s Day – 26 December

 

This is only for paid parking control areas in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s Administrative Area:

Blackrock, Booterstown, Cabinteely, Dalkey, Dún Laoghaire, Dundrum, Glenageary, Monkstown, Seapoint, Sandyford Industrial Estate.

It does not include private carparks.

Motorists are reminded to check signage and local notices for any additional restrictions that may apply outside of these dates.
