MyWaste launches National Food Waste Recycling Week 2026, with brown bin use continuing to grow across Ireland.
Over 1.4 million households now have access to a brown bin, with presentation rates exceeding 70% nationwide — highlighting strong engagement in food waste recycling across both urban and rural areas.
The campaign runs from 30 May to 7 June and focuses on encouraging better food waste habits, reducing contamination and promoting regular brown bin use, even when bins are not full.
MyWaste is reminding households to sort food waste correctly, keep contaminants out, and use their brown bins regularly to help produce compost and renewable energy, supporting Ireland’s move towards a circular economy.
