Meet Seal Rescue Ireland at Our Blue Flag Environmental Education Stalls
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and Seal Rescue Ireland are inviting beach visitors to learn more about Ireland’s native seals and marine biodiversity at two Blue Flag Environmental Education Stalls this July.
Come along and meet the team from Seal Rescue Ireland, Ireland’s only dedicated seal rehabilitation charity, and discover how they rescue, rehabilitate, and release sick, injured, and orphaned seals along our coast.

Visitors can learn about:
- Ireland’s seal populations and their importance to marine ecosystems
- Seal Rescue Ireland’s rescue and rehabilitation programmes
- What to do if you encounter a seal on the coast
- The importance of protecting biodiversity and marine habitats
- Ocean conservation and sustainability initiatives
Seal Rescue Ireland operates a 24-hour rescue line and is supported by a network of more than 800 volunteers who assist with the assessment and transport of seals along over 3,100km of Irish coastline.
These free Blue Flag Environmental Education events are suitable for all ages and are a great opportunity to learn more about the wildlife that shares our coastline and the work being done to protect it.
