Irish Red Cross helpline available for people distressed by flood damage

If you have been distressed or impacted by recent flood damage, the Irish Red Cross has launched a dedicated helpline offering compassionate listening and practical guidance.

Operating daily, 9:00am–6:00pm (including the bank holiday)

From Friday, 30 January 2026, and continuing as needed
Staff and trained volunteers are available to provide:

A supportive, understanding listening ear

Guidance on where to access Government and local authority supports

Help for homeowners, businesses, and property owners dealing with the impacts of Storm Chandra
Please note:
🚫 This is not an emergency line. For urgent on‑the‑ground assistance, call 112 / 999.
Deirdre Garvey, Secretary General of the Irish Red Cross, emphasised the importance of compassionate support during this distressing time and encouraged anyone impacted to reach out.
