Important Water Supply Works Over the August Bank Holiday Weekend
Uisce Éireann will be carrying out important repairs to a major water pipeline over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Although every effort is being made to reduce disruption, some homes and businesses in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown may experience:
- Low water pressure
- Discoloured water
- Temporary interruptions to their water supply.
These issues may occur during the works and for a short time afterwards.
The pipeline carries drinking water from the Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment Plant to the Saggart Reservoir and supplies around one third of the Greater Dublin Area. The work will include repairing 15 leaks and replacing a damaged section of pipe. To help maintain water supplies during the repairs, residents and businesses are asked to use water wisely over the Bank Holiday weekend. Simple actions, such as avoiding unnecessary water use, can help reduce demand on the network.
Specialist crews will be working around the clock to complete the repairs and restore normal service as quickly as possible. Thank you to residents and businesses for your patience and cooperation as these essential water supply improvements take place.
Uisce Éireann will provide updates throughout the works on www.water.ie
