Important Safety Notice: Tucson Circulating Pumps Recall

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a critical safety warning regarding 114,000 Tucson circulating pumps installed in heating systems across Ireland. These pumps—models Tucson 5m, 6m, and 8m, manufactured between 2017 and 2024—pose a serious risk of electrocution due to a wiring fault that can cause the live pin to connect to the earth pin. Key Points:

  • Do not touch the pump: Homeowners are advised not to disconnect, adjust, or carry out maintenance on the affected pumps.
  • Identification: Look for the Tucson brand and check the serial number on the front of the pump. Affected serial numbers include:
    • S/N A, B, C
    • S/N D44 or earlier
    • S/N 2017–2020
  • Replacement programme: Tucson Pumps is offering a free replacement by an approved technician. You can:

  • The CCPC is especially warning heating system professionals to be cautious during servicing or upgrades.
  • Retailers must immediately stop selling affected units and check their stock.
