Important Safety Notice: Tucson Circulating Pumps Recall
10 October 2025
dlr County
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a critical safety warning regarding 114,000 Tucson circulating pumps installed in heating systems across Ireland. These pumps—models Tucson 5m, 6m, and 8m, manufactured between 2017 and 2024—pose a serious risk of electrocution due to a wiring fault that can cause the live pin to connect to the earth pin. Key Points:
- Do not touch the pump: Homeowners are advised not to disconnect, adjust, or carry out maintenance on the affected pumps.
- Identification: Look for the Tucson brand and check the serial number on the front of the pump. Affected serial numbers include:
- S/N A, B, C
- S/N D44 or earlier
- S/N 2017–2020
- Replacement programme: Tucson Pumps is offering a free replacement by an approved technician. You can:
- Use the serial number checker on CCPC.ie [www.ccpc.ie]
- Or call 01 842 6255 for assistance.
For Tradespeople:
- The CCPC is especially warning heating system professionals to be cautious during servicing or upgrades.
- Retailers must immediately stop selling affected units and check their stock.
DLR tenants should contact the Housing Maintenance section immediately if they suspect they have one of these pumps or have any queries on 01 205 4700 or email housingmaintenance@dlrcoco.ie
