Help Us Keep Halloween Safe – Report Bonfire Stockpiling

General News
Tyres stockpiling

As Halloween approaches, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is appealing to residents and businesses to help ensure the celebrations are safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Our Environmental Enforcement Wardens, along with cleansing and parks staff, are actively monitoring for stockpiled bonfire materials. The uncontrolled burning of waste in bonfires is illegal, dangerous, and costly. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any signs of stockpiling.

Important Reminder:

Allowing unpermitted waste collectors to remove waste is an offence and may result in fines of up to €5,000. If you have materials that could be used for bonfires, please store them securely or dispose of them properly before Halloween.

Thanks to public cooperation in 2024, over 55 tonnes of bonfire waste were removed from the County. Your reports make a real difference.
