Have Your Say on the Proposed Development at Kilbogget Park

We asked, 

DLR invited submissions to  Kilbogget Park which aims to deliver a flexible, high‑quality multi‑sport community facility at Kilbogget Park. 

You said, 

We received 225 submissions during the statutory consultation period. These comprised 211 submissions through the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Citizen Space Hub and 14 written submissions by email/letter.

DLR has reviewed all the feedback and comments received. The Chief Executive’s Report on the proposed Kilbogget Park - Sports & Community Facilities development was submitted to the Elected Members of the local authority.

 The Elected Members considered and approved the proposed development and the Chief Executive Report, which recommended that the proposed development, as modified in that Report, proceed, at the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Meeting on the 6th of July 2026. Please note that, pursuant to section 179(4) (b) of the Planning and Development Act 2001, as amended, the proposed development in the Chief Executive's Report, approved by the Elected Members, may now proceed.

What is proposed?

We want to develop a new, high‑quality sports and community facility at Kilbogget Park. The aim is to support current and future use of the park, meet the needs of existing clubs, and provide better facilities for everyone who uses the park. This includes public toilets and other essential amenities.

The proposal includes a two-story building, measuring around 530 square meters, which would provide:

• Public toilets
• Changing rooms
• A gym
• A meeting or analysis room
• Office space
• A referee’s room
• Storage areas

The proposed development also includes:

• A new play space and teen zone
• A multi‑use games area, with floodlighting and a skills wall
• Improvements to the park entrance, with minor changes to the car park
• Landscaping works, including planting, seating, street furniture, fencing, drainage and other related works
