Have Your Say on the New dlr County Biodiversity Action Plan 2027-2032
dlr is delighted to announce that public consultation is now open on the new dlr County Biodiversity Action Plan 2027-2032.
In 2019, Ireland declared a Biodiversity Crisis, and biodiversity loss continues to affect habitats, wildlife and ecosystems across the country and around the world. The EU Nature Restoration Law 2024 sets targets to help restore nature, and local authorities, including dlr, have an important role in protecting and improving biodiversity by working with local communities, organisations and partners.
The decline of pollinators such as bees is increasingly visible across the county. At the same time, local communities, groups and individuals are doing great work to support nature and protect wildlife. The new plan is an opportunity to build on this momentum, and residents are encouraged to share their ideas.

Speaking about the consultation, An Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Councillor Barry Saul, said:
"I am delighted to see the dlr Biodiversity Action Plan 2027-2032 going to public consultation. Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown is an urban county with a variety of important habitats and wildlife, and this Action Plan is an important step towards safeguarding and celebrating that biodiversity.
I encourage everyone to take a moment to contribute their knowledge and insights, helping us to develop a comprehensive plan for the area's natural heritage."
