Have You got your Dún Laoghaire Passport
New Tourism experience for visitors to Dún Laoghaire Town
Launched this week by Cllr Jim Gildea, Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, the Dún Laoghaire Passport encourages people to visit key locations across the town and collect unique stamps along the way.
The Dún Laoghaire Passport can be collected at the Tourism Information Kiosk (off Marine Road/Queens Road junction). Nine unique passport stamps have been designed and can be collected at the following locations:
- Victoria Fountain
- East Pier Battery
- Dún Laoghaire Baths
- James Joyce Tower & Museum
- Peoples Park
- National Maritime Museum
- dlr LexIcon Library & Cultural Centre
- Royal Marine Hotel

Visitors can scan the QR code in the passport to access a digital map, guiding them to all nine locations and showing where to collect each stamp. Those who collect all nine stamps will receive a special commemorative shamrock pin from the tourism kiosk.
A Connected Tourism Trail
The trail will support local businesses by guiding visitors and encouraging movement around the town of Dún Laoghaire. The trail takes in the incredible views of Dublin Bay, Howth, Sandycove and the unique street scape of this Victorian harbour town.
Cllr Jim Gildea, Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council said,
“This new 2-hour walking trail is free to do and is a fantastic way for visitors to experience Dún Laoghaire and meet local people. Collecting the stamps at the key locations is good fun and will help create lasting memories of visiting Dún Laoghaire.”
Frank Curran, Chief Executive, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council added:
“This project encourages visitors to explore Dún Laoghaire, from its wonderful harbour and historical assets to its newest attractions, including the Dún Laoghaire Baths, enhanced coastal access, the coastal mobility route and the Anseo Urban Art Trail.
