Financial Help for Flood‑Damaged Homes in Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown
28 January 2026
dlr County
If your home in Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown was damaged by flooding during Storm Chandra, the Humanitarian Assistance Scheme is now available.
This scheme provides short‑term, immediate financial support for people who cannot meet the cost of essential needs, household items or, in some cases, structural repairs. It is administered by the Community Welfare Service. This support helps with the essentials only. It does not provide full compensation and does not cover any damage that is (or could reasonably be) covered by home insurance.
The scheme may help with:
• Emergency needs like food, clothing and bedding
• Damage to essential household items (carpets, flooring, furniture, appliances, bedding)
• Certain structural damage to your home.
