On Saturday 30th March at Blackrock Park from 1-5 pm, all is not quite what it seems as a white rabbit, a hatter, and a little girl called Alice host a most unusual ‘Easter Eggscapade’. Blackrock Park will be transformed into a whimsical wonderland as the highly anticipated ‘Easter Eggscapade’ event kicks off from 1pm-5pm and admission is free.

The event, is an initiative by Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and will feature a wide array of delightful activities, perfect for children and adults alike.

An Cathaoirleach Councillor Denis O'Callaghan looking forward to Easter said:

“As we celebrate the joy and renewal of Easter, I invite families to join us for our Easter Eggscapade - a free event at Blackrock Park on March 30th from 1 to 5 pm. Embrace the spirit of togetherness with an Easter egg hunt and an array of delightful family activities.

Celebrating Easter with an enchanting Alice in Wonderland theme, the event promises a day of family- friendly fun and excitement with characters in costume such as the White Rabbit, Alice, and the MadHatter himself. The highlight of the day will be the traditional Easter Egg Hunt, where children will embark on a thrilling quest to uncover hidden treasures scattered throughout the park. Get curious and solve the clues on the Easter Egg Trail to win one of the hundreds of Easter treats. Take a ride in a teacup, walk the ‘Hat Walk’, be a pawn in a giant chess game or take part in ‘Make & Do’ at this guaranteed fun day out for all the family.

The event will feature a festive "Create an Easter Bonnet" or "Make A mad Hat" station, where children can design and decorate their very own Easter Hat. An exciting "Hat Walk" fashion show will then give children the chance to flaunt their stylish hats in a delightful display of fashion and creativity. The teacup carousel will provide families with an enchanting ride, evoking the spirit of the beloved tea party from the classic tale of Alice in Wonderland. For little thrill-seekers, the Easter Eggscapade event will boast inflatable bouncing castles, providing hours of energetic delight and entertainment.

There will also be a prize for the best Easter-themed bicycle, adding a touch of whimsy and joy to the event. To complete the magical experience, the event will feature talented face painters, ready to adorn children's faces with vibrant and playful designs, adding an extra touch of festive flair to the occasion.
