Dublin Camera Club Celebrate 80 Years with Anniversary Exhibition at dlr LexIcon Library

The Dublin Camera Club’s 80th Anniversary Exhibition was launched at dlr LexIcon Library last night and officially opened by Cllr Barry Saul, Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council

Founded in 1946, Dublin Camera Club is one of Ireland's longest-established photography clubs and has played a significant role in supporting and promoting photography for eight decades. The exhibition showcases a selection of work by club members, highlighting the creativity, technical skill and diverse perspectives that continue to define the club today. 

The exhibition features photographs across a wide range of genres, reflecting both contemporary and traditional photographic practices and celebrates the rich visual heritage and ongoing contribution of the club to Ireland's photographic community. 

Opening the exhibition, Cllr Barry Saul, Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council said:

"Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown has a long tradition of supporting arts, culture and creativity, and I am delighted to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Dublin Camera Club here at dlr LexIcon. This exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the talents of the club's members and the important contribution they have made to photographic arts in Ireland over the past 80 years. I encourage everyone to visit the exhibition and enjoy this remarkable collection of work."
