dlr Times Summer 2026

The Summer 2026 edition of dlr Times is now available, showcasing the wide range of work underway across Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown to enhance quality of life for residents, businesses, and communities. This issue also marks the election of Cllr Barry Saul as Cathaoirleach and sets out his key priorities, including the opening of the new Stillorgan Library and the continued development of St. Thomas’ Fields as a modern, inclusive multi-sport campus. His focus also includes housing and planning, with the County Development Plan guiding balanced and sustainable growth in dlr, alongside promoting tourism across the county and highlighting all that Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown has to offer, from its coast and harbour to its mountains, parks and cultural attractions supporting local businesses and communities.

This issue focuses on accessibility and inclusion, with updates on initiatives including accessible boating at Dún Laoghaire Harbour, beach wheelchairs at Killiney, supporting access to employment through the WAM Programme and ongoing investment in inclusive facilities and programmes. Housing, planning and infrastructure also feature prominently, including new social and affordable homes and the Glenamuck District Roads Scheme, supporting connectivity and future growth.

Climate action remains a key priority, with highlights from Dublin Climate Action Week and community-led sustainability projects. The issue also includes practical information on beach safety, water quality, and local services, along with updates on septic tank grants and guidance on fixing misconnections, a hidden cause of water pollution.

A vibrant programme of events is showcased, from Coastival and Open House, to arts exhibitions and library initiatives, offering opportunities for all ages to get involved. Together, these stories reflect an active, inclusive, and forward-looking county, committed to delivering services that make a positive difference every day.

You can read it in either English or Irish on our website.  Issues are also available to pick up at County Hall, Dún Laoghaire, Dundrum Office, dlr Libraries or dlr Leisure Centres.
