dlr Open Exhibition 2025 - Lucid Dreaming
7 December 2025 – 15 February 2026
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is thrilled to invite you to Lucid Dreaming, the dlr Open Exhibition showcasing an exciting mix of visual art by talented artists connected to our County.
This year’s theme, Lucid Dreaming, inspired a wide range of imaginative responses. The exhibition was carefully selected and curated by Davey Moor, Curator at the Royal Hibernian Academy, through an open submission process.
The launch was a wonderful celebration, bringing together artists, friends, and art lovers in our Municipal Gallery in dlr LexIcon. Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council was delighted to present the Open Exhibition Award of €1,000 to Eimear Carvill, with runners-up Kate McDonagh and Fergal Styles each receiving €250.
Frank Curran, Chief Executive of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, shared:
“We’re delighted to offer so many local artists the chance to exhibit in our beautiful gallery. It’s especially exciting to see a recent IADT graduate win the award. Supporting artists like Eimear at this early stage is something we’re proud to do.”
An Cathaoirleach, Councillor Jim Gildea, added:
“This exhibition is a fantastic showcase of the artistic talent in our County. The theme gave artists plenty of room for creativity, and the results are thought-provoking and often truly beautiful.”
Curator Davey Moor brings a wealth of experience, having worked in independent and institutional roles since 2004, including Monster Truck, Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, and the Irish State Art Collection at the OPW.
The exhibition will continue until 15 February and alongside it dlr Arts Office will host talks, workshops, and events for all ages—perfect opportunities to explore art-making and engage with the gallery in new ways.
Selected and curated by Davey Moor, Curator, Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin
