DLR Leads the Way in Housing, Sustainability and Innovation
Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown County Council has been shortlisted for several categories in the All‑Ireland Housing Awards, recognising excellence in housing delivery, sustainability, and innovation.
The Council’s commitment to creating high‑quality, inclusive and environmentally responsible new communities has been acknowledged across three award categories: Best Housing Development, Striving for Sustainability, and Excellence in Housing Innovation.
In the Best Housing Development category, two projects have been shortlisted:
- Shanganagh Castle Estate, Shankill – Designed for Living, Built for Community, delivered by DLR in partnership with the Land Development Agency (LDA).
- Park House – recognised as a Model of Regeneration for transforming existing buildings within towns into modern, energy‑efficient homes and promoting ‘living over the shop’.
Under Striving for Sustainability, the nominees highlight DLR’s leadership in low‑carbon and future‑proof housing:
- Shanganagh Castle Estate – celebrated for leading the way to a better future for all, delivered by DLR in partnership with the Land Development Agency (LDA).
- Roebuck Road Housing – setting the standard for sustainable living through energy‑efficient design and high environmental performance.
We have also been shortlisted for Excellence in Housing Innovation for the Hybrid Power System implemented at the St. Laurence’s Apartments and Stillorgan Library construction site. This innovative system reduces emissions and supports more sustainable construction practices.
These nominations reflect DLR’s ongoing commitment to delivering high‑quality homes, strong communities and climate‑conscious development throughout the County.
