dlr Launches Free Events to Help Households Save on Energy Costs

Residents of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown are invited to attend two free events aimed at helping households save energy, reduce bills and create more comfortable homes. Hosted at the dlr LexIcon Library, Dún Laoghaire, both sessions will offer practical, easy-to-understand advice from experienced energy experts.

Pop-Up Energy Clinic

A Pop-Up Energy Clinic, will take place on Monday, 9 March, from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Attendees are invited to drop in at any time during the session to speak directly with energy advisors, who will be available to offer personalised guidance on improving home energy efficiency, understanding available SEAI grants, managing energy bills, exploring supplier switching options, and tackling common issues such as damp and mould. Advisors will also demonstrate how residents can make the most of the Home Energy Saving Kit, which can be borrowed free of charge from any dlr library. No booking is required, and all walk-ins are welcome.

Energy Efficiency Workshop

The Energy Efficiency Workshop will take place on Wednesday, 19 March, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at the dlr LexIcon. This one-hour session will provide practical advice on everyday ways to reduce energy use and address household concerns like damp and mould. Participants will also learn how to read and understand their energy bills and discover how switching energy suppliers may help reduce costs. The workshop will additionally include an update on the Council’s ongoing efforts to cut carbon emissions and reduce energy use across its own operations. Both events are open to all residents of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown and offer a valuable opportunity to receive free expert advice on making homes warmer, healthier and more energy efficient.
