Apply Now: dlr Grants Scheme 2027 Open for Applications

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has announced the launch of the dlr Grants Scheme 2027, providing funding opportunities for community groups, residents' associations, sports clubs, artists, heritage projects, businesses, and voluntary organisations across the county. 

The annual grants programme supports a wide range of local initiatives that contribute to community development, environmental enhancement, heritage, arts, tourism, festivals, sports development, and business promotion. 

A variety of grants are available under the scheme, including Community Development Grants, Community Facilities Grants, Community Activity Grants, Age Friendly Grants, Environment Enhancement Grants, Heritage Grants, Arts Grants, Tourism, Events and Festival Grants, Sports Development & Participation Grants and Business Area Promotion Grants. 

The scheme aims to support projects and activities that strengthen communities, enhance local environments, promote wellbeing and inclusion, celebrate culture and heritage, and encourage participation in sport and recreation. 

An Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Cllr Barry Saul encouraged organisations and individuals to explore the funding opportunities available and apply for projects that will have a positive impact in their local communities.

"One of the greatest strengths of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown is the dedication and creativity of our local communities. Last year, more than €650,000 was awarded through the dlr Grants Scheme to community groups, organisations, and local initiatives across the county, helping to support projects that bring people together, promote inclusion, celebrate culture and heritage, and enhance the quality of life of our residents. I encourage organisations throughout the county to explore the grant opportunities available and apply for funding to support their work and make an even greater impact in their communities."

"Through the dlr Grants Scheme, the Council is investing in initiatives that deliver real benefits for residents and contribute to the long-term social, cultural and environmental development of the county. The scheme supports many of the objectives set out in our Corporate Plan by enabling local organisations to respond to community needs, build capacity and create opportunities for participation and inclusion across Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown."

To help applicants understand the various funding streams and application requirements, dlr will host public information sessions in Council Offices Dundrum, County Hall Dún Laoghaire and dlr Lexicon as well as a series of online information webinars. Full details of the grants available, eligibility criteria and application forms can be found on the Council's grants portal. 

The closing date for applications is 1pm on Friday 23 October 2026. Successful applicants will be notified in early 2027.
