The Orange Weather Warning from Met Éireann associated with Storm Barra covers the whole dlr area and the our coastline. It is in place from 0800 – 1300 Tuesday 7 December.

The Councils Severe Weather Alert Team has been convened and will be monitoring the progress of the effects of the storm in the County. In advance of the storm, gullys and drains have been cleared of leaves and river screens cleared. All outdoors teams have been mobilised and are ready for blockage and clean up operations.

For the duration of the Orange Warning all dlr Parks, cemeteries, recycling centres and piers will be closed to the public. We would ask everybody to heed the warnings of the emergency services and coastguard and stay away from harbours, beaches, headlands and any exposed areas along our coastline and in our upland areas. All road users are advised to proceed with caution due to expected high winds and heavy rain.

Further updates will be provided on this webpage and our social media channels – please stay up to date as it is likely that information will be updated frequently where it affects the dlr area.

If you have storm damage to your home and it is a Council property, if you see a tree blocking a road or flooding in your area or any other storm related incident please contact us at info@dlrcoco.ie and 01 2054700.
