Congratulations to Emma from Rathdown Senior School and Maria, Fina, Sarah, Roisin and Alyssa from St. Raphaela’s Secondary School who have been selected to represent dlr at the Relove Fashion award final.

Relove Fashion encourages students to take a deeper look at how their clothing is made and rethink the approach to fast fashion. The competition explores creative reuse options such as upcycling, repairs, alterations, and mending. Students use their design and repair skills to make their own fashion statement. The Relove Fashion competition is open to all secondary school students and is a collaboration between the Rediscovery Centre and local authorities.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown were inspired by the amount creativity and effort that went into every entry that was submitted. These students illustrate how clothes can be repurposed and upcycled to minimise textile waste.

Photographs of all submitted entries from schools within dlr can now be viewed on the Council’s website (please find the link here).

The live grand final will be held on the 25th of February. Keep an eye on our twitter and the @Relove_Fashion social media accounts to keep up to date and to congratulate the finalists!
