Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and Music Network will present an online performance by Kevin Brady and the Tommy Halferty Trio on the County Council and Music Network’s social channels on Monday, 21 December at 7pm. They will perform a programme of new music, Tudo é Som.

An Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Councillor Una Power, said: “We are thrilled to be able to support musicians in the creation of new work throughout this difficult time. We are excited to listen to the work they have created and hope that the public will enjoy hearing these original compositions.”

Commenting on the announcement, CEO of Music Network Sharon Rollston said: “We are delighted to announce the online performance by Kevin Brady, along with the Tommy Halferty Trio, and we are very much looking forward hearing both performances.”

Since Kevin Brady’s appointment as dlr’s Musician-In-Residence in September, Kevin and the other members of the Tommy Halferty Trio have been exploring and composing music influenced by música instrumental Brasileira (Brazilian instrumental music). The new programme of music, Tudo é Som (Everything is Sound), celebrates the diversity of culture in Ireland today.  Commenting on the new programme of music, Kevin Brady said: “We are delighted to be able to perform our new work online. The dlr Musician-In-Residence scheme has been a fantastic experience for all of us, giving us the time and space to really delve into a style of music we are so passionate about.

The Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Musicians-in-Residence Scheme provides opportunities for performers and composers to develop and showcase new work and cultivate new artistic collaborations. The residences also serve to enrich the cultural environment of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown through engagement with local community groups. They are funded by the Arts Council and managed by Music Network.
