Council prepares Cycle Parking GIS map

Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council is delighted to announce that a GIS Map has been prepared that captures the location of cycle parking stands around the County. With cycle numbers increasing, especially along the coastline and at key towns and villages, the demand for cycle parking is also growing, especially for leisure purposes.  Currently there are over 2000 cycle stands on public space around the County providing parking for 4000 bikes. The map also highlights where more cycle parking may be required with details of the map found here

An Cathaoirleach, Cllr Lettie McCarthy said,

"I welcome the preparation of this cycle parking GIS map. The map will make it easier for cyclists to find a cycle stand close to their destination, no matter where they are in the County"
